Looking for members of A Company, 2-12th who were involved in the big fight on 24 October 1969. I was the Plt Leader from C Troop, 3/4 Cav that's came to your rescue that day with Sheridan's and APC's. I am looking for anyone who knew or served with LT Dave Sackett. Dave was killed that day and is a Classmate of mine from the West Point Class of 1968. I met CPT Eddie White for a few moments just before we jumped into the fight. Our West Point Class is trying to write a book of rembrance for all 20 of our fallen classmates from Vietnam. I have taken responsibility to research Dave's story.
I have seen Krause's logs and stories on this web site which is helpful but not quite accurate with our part of that fight.
Any suggestions or ideas are appreciated.

"To those who have fought for it, Life has a flavor that the protected will never know!" This was the maxim of the Vietnam soldier and those of us who served fully understand it. I served in the infantry for 6 months and then was rotated to Long Binh to work with soldiers suffering from combat fatigue. My Combat Infantryman's Badge allowed soldiers to feel comfortable talking with me. I chronicled my experiences into a memoir titled "Courage on the Mountain" which is a free read for Amazon Prime members. It has received over 900 five-star reviews and been read by thousands of our brother and sister veterans. As I said, it is a free read and I would be honored if you chose to view the introduction on Amazon and even more so if you decide to read it. I'm sure that you'll find it captivating. I'm glad that you made it home! May God Bless! Courage on the Mountain- courageonthemountain.com

Have you tried http://12thinfantry2ndbattalion.com/ Bruce has some good information on his site, covers a lot of ground. I was there with Bravo Co., we landed on an underground hospital, had a little action but most as I remember was around Alpha Co.
